2000-07-21 - ABB's International Photography Competition "What is Knowledge?"
(i) must be 18 years or over on June 1, 2000. (ii) can submit up to five photographs. (iii) must complete the entry form and write their name, address, daytime telephone number, the title or description of the photograph and the date when it was taken, on an adhesive label, attached to the back of each photograph. 2. The photographs: (i) can be black & white or color, featuring your interpretation of “knowledge.” (ii) must have been taken after January 1, 2000. Entrants must, if required, be able to show proof of the date on which the photograph was taken. (iii) must be supplied as unmounted prints, sized between 12.5 x 17.5 and 21 x 29.5 cm (max. A4). Computer printouts from digital cameras must have a minimum resolution of 300 dpi. Transparencies will not be accepted. (iv) should be securely protected for shipping. 3. By entering the competition, entrants: (i) warrant to ABB that they own the work submitted, that the whole copyright in the work is vested in them, that they have not in any way encumbered their right to deal with the ownership of the work and the copyright therein by assignment, license or otherwise and that if the work was commissioned for private and domestic purposes it is submitted with the permission of the person who commissioned it. (ii) warrant that they have obtained the appropriate model releases from persons featured in their submitted photographs. (iii) agree that their work may be reproduced by ABB in a book and in other media worldwide which promote the book. The copyright of all selected images remain with the image creator. 4. The judges’ decision is final and no discussion or correspondence can be entered into on their decision. They reserve the right to vary the awards or not to make any award. 5. Each winning photograph will be awarded US$ 1,000. The photographers’ work will be fully credited, and there will be a photographers index in the book and on the Internet with contact information. Winning photographers will also receive two copies of the book, and copyright will remain with the image creator. 6. Reasonable efforts will be made to notify all winners by post by December 1, 2000. 7. ABB shall not be liable for any loss of, or damage to, any of the entries. 8.
