Shanghai, China, December 18, 2002 – ABB, the leading power and automation technology group, announced today that it won an order from the China Education Committee for supplying 14 robots with software to eight leading technical universities in China. Funded by World Bank, these robots will be used in laboratories and research at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Zhejiang University, Harbin Institute of Technology, and other top universities across the nation.

To support the country to further develop its manufacturing automation to a higher level, ABB donated its state-of-the-art robot studio software together with the robots.
