"Satisfied customers are the corner stones of our success. We would not be able to celebrate this great achievement without customer's trust and confidence, as well as full appreciation of our product and working with our people," said Mr. Giandomenico Rivetti, BA PTMV - BU manager of Apparatus.
He gave full credit to the employees of this joint venture company. "We couldn't be here, at this celebration, at this great event without the full dedication and the passion of our people of ABB China. It would not have been possible to manufacture the technically advanced VD4 that is highly appreciated by our customers for its world-class quality and performance without a committed workforce, excellent service and support."
The impressive VD4 story started in China in 1994 since the first unit was produced in ABB Xiamen Switchgear Co., Ltd. It took the company five years to reach the first 10,000 units in November 1999; two years to reach the second 10,000 units, one year for the third 10,000 units, then eight months to reach the 40,000th unit mark in July 2003. And now, only six months later to celebrate the roll-out of the 50,000th VD4. With this output, ABB Xiamen Switchgear Co. Ltd became one of the largest medium voltage vacuum circuit breaker type VD4 production base in ABB.
